A new era of dentistry has evolved primarily from a new technique using a mini-sandblaster which sprays a high pressed stream of microscopic particles, to the tooth that is in need of restoration. By using this machine, we can restore small cavities, and remove old composite fillings. This procedure is easy and more comfortable than using the old conventional way of high-speed drills and anesthetic needles.
Most people fear the dentist until they experience this new gentle procedure. Instead of turning on a loud high-speed drill, the dentist gives you a pair of goggles and then directs the stream of air blow microscopic particles to your tooth, and gently removes any decay from the area without ever touching the tooth! Less healthy tooth structure is cut away by this method, and superior bonding surface results. We then fill the cavity with a nearly invisible filling, making the entire tooth strong, long lasting, and resistant to tooth decay. This procedure allows us to painlessly and predictably detect and treat carious lesions in the early stages, and prevent the later need for more involved invasive procedures.
